New Planet Energy was formed in 2007 to assist in commercializing new technologies that utilize waste materials and other sustainable resources in the production of renewable energy and related products.

Operating as NPE Holdings, LLC, the company has entered into a joint venture with INEOS Bio, a business unit of the global chemical company, INEOS, to develop, build, own and operate commercial plants that will co-produce advanced biofuels and renewable electricity using the breakthrough INEOS Bio thermochemical and biochemical process. The joint venture, INEOS New Planet BioEnergy LLC (INP BioEnergy), has completed construction of its first facility in Indian River County, Florida. Once commissioning is complete it will produce eight million gallons of ethanol and 6.3 MW of gross power from vegetative and municipal wastes.  The project has merited federal assistance in the form of a US DOE Section 932 grant in the amount of $50 million and a USDA Section 9003 loan guarantee in the amount of $75 million.

New Planet Energy’s know-how rests in our ability to develop and finance projects that provide complete solutions to corporate and municipal trash disposal, landfill reduction and pollution containment, and project financing needs. We are currently working with municipalities to develop solutions that will reduce their escalating costs of waste collection, transport and disposal.
